ASHLAND, Ore. -- Around the country, thousands of people are taking a stance on gun control.
Saturday morning, people throughout the valley rallied together to march in favor of gun control.
"The goal of the march is to support President Obama's recent legislative proposal and to encourage congress to take immediate action on gun control," said Melissa Mitchell-Hooge, the Co-Chair of the Southern Oregon Chapter for One Million Moms for Gun Control.
The march stated at the Ashland Library and ended at Lithia Park.
"My main reason for being here is I have kids and they are afraid to be here. They are afraid that this march will be a target," said Jennifer Bagshaw, a concerned mother and in favor of gun control.
Bagshaw doesn't want to take gun away from people, but she believes that having tighter restrictions will help keep guns out of the wrong hands.
The One Million Moms for Gun Control is a non-profit organization that organized the march.
