Grand jury indicts suspect in Human Bean robbery
MEDFORD, Ore. -- The Jackson County Sheriff's office says the man accused of stealing shoes from Sportsman's Warehouse and getting into a fight with employees is a suspect in a recent Human Bean robbery.
A Jackson County grand jury agreed with the sheriff's office Tuesday as they indicted Shigh Davis, 19, on a robbery charge.
On Jan. 21, the Jackson County Sheriff's office responded to a robbery at a Human Bean store in the 3900 block of South Pacific Highway.
They began investigating and received tips from a CrimeStoppers story. That tip identified Davis as a possible suspect because he matched the description and lived near the coffee stand.
However, the sheriff's office was able to positively identified him as a suspect after after news reports of a theft and fight at Sportsman's Warehouse, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff's office.
On Feb. 7, Medford police allege that Davis attempted to steal a pair of shoes from the store. Employees and bystanders tried to stop him. A fight ensued.
Police say they found a gun on Davis's person.
The Jackson County Sheriff's office added a robbery charge for the Human Bean incident on Monday. A grand jury handed down the indictment on Tuesday.
Davis is being held at the Jackson County jail.
