GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Josephine County Food Bank is counting on a big donation this weekend to gather more funds to move to a bigger location.
On March 9, the Greater Grants Pass Rotary Club is hosting it's annual Rotary's First Crush event.
The event will take place at the Josephine County Fairgrounds Pepsi Building from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m and costs $35.
There will be a silent auction that will take place to raise money for the local food bank and local scholarship throughout the community.
" Last year we raised $13,000 for the food bank and we hope to match or exceed that this year," said Dan Converse, a member of the Greater Grants Pass Rotary Club.
The food bank is hoping to expand to help reach more people in need throughout the community. With funds coming from events like Rotary's First Crush, they are opening to raise the rest of the money they need to move to a bigger location in the near future.
For now, the food bank is hoping to receive more donations from the community to help those in need.
Items in high demand include peanut butter, canned tuna and baby food that is not expired.
The event is located at 1451 Fairgrounds Road in Grants Pass at the Pepsi Building.
