Robinson earns third conference Player of Week honor
WHITEFISH, Mont. -- Southern Oregon linebacker Kalii Robinson (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey) earned his third Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor after leading the SOU defense in the Raiders' 46-28 upset of No. 7 Montana Tech, the conference announced Monday.
Robinson finished the game with five solo and seven assisted tackles to go with one pass deflection in the game as the SOU defense held the usually potent Tech offense scoreless until the third quarter. Southern Oregon built a 46-7 lead before the Orediggers scored three touchdowns in the final quarter. Robinson has claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors in three of the past four weeks.
Southern Oregon climbed to No. 10 in the final NAIA poll and will play at No. 8 St. Ambrose Saturday at 1 p.m. (CST) in the first round of the 2012 NAIA Football Championship Series.
