Former OSU Beaver Pitcher Ekstrom Makes Triple-A All-Star Team

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Former Barlow High and Oregon State
University pitcher Mike Ekstrom has been chosed to represent the
Portland Beavers in the Triple-A All-Star Game, which will be held
in PGE Park on July 15.
Ekstrom has a 3-1 record and ERA of 2.08. His performance led to
a brief call-up to the San Diego Padres last month.
The rest of the Pacific Coast League roster features the usual
mix of prospects and journeymen.
One pitcher to watch is Bud Norris, a hard-throwing right-hander
from the Houston Astros organization.
The top position prospect is likely Alcides Escobar, a
slick-fielding shortstop from the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
