Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Annual Tourney Begins Tuesday at Rogue Valley Country Club
Rogue Valley Country Club in Medford will be buzzing this week with over 360 golfer who are taking part in the 79th Annual Southern Oregon Golf Tournament.
Monday some participants were out practicing.
The tournament actually begins Tuesday with two days of qualifying rounds and match play beginning Thursday.
It's not only the biggest tournament that the country club hosts each year, it's also the largest match play tournament of it's kind in the United States.
Tournament Director and Club Pro Jim Wise says people come to play because of the course itself and the sunshine.
"We've got a great old golf course here, it was designed in the '20s by Chandler Egan and I think people appreciate playing it. Secondly the weather, the weather in Southern Oregon is usually pretty good in August and September," says Wise.
The tournament will wrap up with the finals one week from today. This whole week the country club is open to the public to come out and watch.
